One of my coffee pals recently christened me as a ‘Social Butterfly’ since striking up a conversation occurs to me naturally. Visiting places of yore and gazing at their architecture, imagining how life was then energizes me. Add to that the appeal of staying in picturesque resorts. But what makes my heart jump? Well my love for canines is legendary and I pet and feed them where ever I go . This gets extended in my adoration for all animals be it a lion or a bat or a gecko . Nothing exalts me more than waking up really early and ride to the forest with a pair of binoculars.

Bird photography is, however, another story. My good friends, Siddhartha and Dr. Asok Majumder were the ones who first instilled in me the love of observing these beauties in flight. And yes of course like any animal lover worth his salt, I do manage to click mammals, reptiles and amphibians and so on…
Chandrima and me like the independence that self-drive provides. It allows us to watch the world from close quarters, provides independence and a sense of adventure. A 4WD, a good camera and a smartphone is all that you need to get going. The passion of self driving has not only taken us to various parts of India on road like Zanskar, Ladakh, Gangotri, Kabini, Sikkim but has also driven on to countries like New Zealand, Namibia, Bhutan and so many more to come...

I am an Ophthalmic Surgeon by profession but a Traveler by heart. I have traveled far and wide be it the sands of Rajasthan or the icy shores of Antarctica. Age has not deterred me from trekking to the mighty himalayas - Kedarnath, Yamunotri or the Everest base camp. I met Chandrima and Debarshi in 2008 on a holiday to Jordan and since then we have been traveling together to various places.
